Sunday

1 - Canada Day Ruck - Bull Trail Park at 7:00 a.m.

Celebrate Canada with a Early Morning Ruck!

Meet at Bull Trail Park parking lot and we will head out from there!

Rucking is like walking but with weight in your ruck sack. Like to walk? Try rucking and triple your calorie burn!

If you weigh under 150 lbs, we recommend you carry 20 lbs in your ruck sack.

If you weigh more than 150 lbs, we recommend you carry 30 lbs in your ruck sack.

You can fill your ruck sack with a bag of rice, potatoes, sandbags, stone, weights or even bricks. 

Make sure you bring water. This is a social activitity, but you will be challenged.

 

1 - Canada Day - Lethbridge Bulls Game - Spitz Stadium at 7:15 - 9:30 p.m.

Join other members for a day of celebration at Henderson Lake.

First up is the Lethbridge Bulls vs the Beavers at Spitz Stadium. Enjoy beer, peanuts and cracker jacks as we cheers on the Bulls in their first game of a double header!

Bleacher tickets are $10 and can be purchased online or at the stadium.

Let's meet outside the stadium at 7:15. Game Starts at 7:35

1 - Canada Day - Fireworks  - Henderson Lake at 9:00 - 10:30 p.m.

Enjoy the fireworks at Henderson Lake for Canada Day.

Meet-up Spot: Henderson Lake is going to be busy! Let's meet between 9:00 and 9:15 at the Nika Yukko gift shop. We can head out together to find a good spot to watch the fireworks.

3 - Trivia Night - Backstreet Pub South at 7 p.m.

Join other members every second Tuesday for trivia night at Backstreet Pub South. We strongly suggest you arrive early to reserve your spot. This event fills up FAST!

 

 

Wednesday

4 – Ruck – Andrew Wilderness Park at 7 p.m. 

Meet at the Andrew Wilderness lower parking lot at 10 a.m. for an hour of rucking! Rucking is like hiking but in the city. Load your rucksack with a little weight and explore the trails of Lethbridge!

5 – Info Night – The Crossings Library at 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. 

Introducing our new monthly Information Night!

Meet Patrick, founder of Lethbridge Sports and Social Club, and learn about what Lethbridge Sports and Social Club is all about.

Ask him, how the membership works, questions about upcoming events, suggest events and pick up your cash order purchases.

Book Club was chosen by members. Show starts at 6:55. Meet in the lobby at 6:30

Members can meet in the lobby by the old ticket booth at 6:30 to guarantee themselves a ticket and a good seat!  Movie TBD.

7 – Frisbee Golf – Nicholas Sheran Park at 11 a.m. 

Join members for a round of Frisbee Golf!

Meet in the parking lot off of McMaster Blvd at 11 and head out from there!

Join other members for everyone's favourite camp game; Capture the Flag!

11 - Lawn Bowling - Lethbridge Lawn Bowling Club at 6:30 p.m.

Lawn bowling is “like curling on the grass”

There is yearly membership fee of $30.00 but they will let people come and try it for free a couple of times before committing to a membership.

People can come and try it for free a couple of times.
It's $30.00 for the year, under 18 free.

You've seen us talk the talk and walk the walk. Now it is your turn!

This is an event open to everyone. Member and Non-Members. Learn what Rucking is all about and then join us for a walk around downtown Lethbridge!

Meet at Tourism Lethbridge and we will head out from there!

With the sunny weather here, why not go for a relaxed bike ride around the neighbourhood, try out the bike paths that weave through the city?

So, on Thursday, July 26th, from 6:30 to 8:30pm, let's meet up by the kiosk at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. From there we can choose as a group how far to ride. There are plenty of options, shorter routes, all the way up to a big 30km loop. Most options are along the bike paths, or on quiet streets.

We're not riding to race, and nobody will be left behind. It's time to get out and enjoy the beginnings of what should be a gorgeous summer.

CANCELLED 13 – Tequila Tasting – Everything Wine and More at 7:00 p.m.

 

13 – Street Wheelers: Controlled Cruise – Just outside of Moxies Grill at 7:00 p.m.


Cruise takes place on Friday night along 3rd avenue south. Begins at 7:00pm and runs until 10:00pm** when 18 blocks of 3rd Ave. S. from Senic Drive to Mayor Magrath is shut down to all general traffic allowing for a four lane cruise of what has been in years past reached it’s maximum allowed registration of 830 vehicles.

Members can meet outside Moxies Grill at 18:15 and set up their lawn chairs on the sidewalk and enjoy the free entertainment together. There is always the option after the event to walk across the street to take in the festivities at the Back Street South beer gardens.

 

Saturday

14 – Trail Riding – Alpine Stables at 11:15 a.m.

Lethbridge Expeditions is an adventure group within Lethbridge Sports and Social Club to organize day trips in and around Lethbridge.

Horseback tours are an hour long and cost $45. 

We will meet at the Superstore Parking lot and coordinate carpools from there. We will depart from Superstore at 11:15. If you're late, sorry. We hope to meet you for the next time.

14 – Street Wheelers - 100 for Dash – Exhibition Park at 7:00 p.m.

Join members at the Grandstand at the Exhibition Park at 9:15 for a morning of racing*. “That is always a lot of fun, because it is more about who is the best driver, because the fastest car doesn’t always win,” Alex Dewar of Street Wheelers observed in 2017.

There is a cost of $10.00 to enter.

Participating vehicles in the 100' dash will be classed as follows.
Class Structure
Classes are defined by the number of performance adding components found on the vehicle.

15 – Plan LSSC Event – Tourism Lethbridge at 10:00 a.m.

Are you passionate about helping others come together as a community and share experiences together?

Join us on July 15 as we plan future events for Lethbridge Sports and Social Club.

If you have a laptop, please bring it with you. We will be typing and adding events to the website and Facebook.

Come out with your ideas and passion for bringing members of LSSC together to have some fun!

 

15 – Racquetball and/or Squash – Lethbridge YMCA at 12:00 p.m.

Join other members and play squash or raquetball. We meet at the front desk and walk down to the room together. Bring a photo ID and sign-in at the front desk to comply with their child protection policy.

There are raquets at the front desk that you can borrow if you don't have a raquet.

**We'll book one court for 12-2 p.m.**

 

15 – Street Wheelers: Show and Shine – Galt Gardens at 12:00 p.m.

Meet other members at noon at South West entrance to Galt Gardens Park. Walk along the huge collection of reconditioned vehicles from a variety of manufacturers spanning decades and converse with the owners/caregivers of these classics. Owners bring their rides from all over Canada and the United States. Street Food vendors set up near the park.

16 – Vigilante Room – Escape From LA at 7:00 p.m.

Join other members as we attempt an escape room at Escape From LA. Members who show their annual membership card will receive $5 OFF their admission.

If you’re looking for something different to do, come meet with other club members and play horse shoes.

If you own horseshoes, please bring them to share. Or borrow them from Lethbridge Public Library!

So, on Tuesday, July 17th, starting at 6:30pm, let's meet up by the new Tim Hortons on the north side, somewhat on the corner of Scenic Drive North and Mildred Dobbs Blvd. From there we can choose as a group how far to ride. There are plenty of options, shorter routes, all the way up to a big 30km loop. Most options are along the bike paths, or on quiet streets.

We're not riding to race, and nobody will be left behind. It's time to get out and enjoy the beginnings of what should be a gorgeous summer. 

 

19 – Dart and Pool – Shotz Billiards Club at 7:00 p.m.

Hey guys, lets get together for a evening of darts and pool. We'll meet in the lounge at 7 and remember to wear your Lethbridge Sports and Social Club T-shirt if you've got one!!

 

Friday

20 – Go Karts – Evergreen Golf Centre at 7:00 p.m.

Join other members for a night of go-kart racing!

Ten laps costs $10.50. Those interested can go out for beverages and snacks after.

Members can meet just at the entrance at 7 p.m. Connect easier with other members by wearing your Lethbridge Sports and Social Club t-shirt.

Afterwards, lets head to Coulee Brew for some cold drinks!

 

20 – Mix and Mingle – Coulee Brew Co. at 8:15 p.m.

Join other members for a our most popular event, Mix and Mingle! We are going to try to get a spot on the patio so we can play their lawn games!

Saturday

21 – Picnic, Lawn Games, and Water Fight – Henderson Lake Park at 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Join other Members for a picnic lunch followed by lawn games and a water fight!

Bring your own lunch and blanket to sit on and we will bring the lawn games. Croquet, horseshoes, bocce and lawn darts will be provided to play.

Waterfight will consist of buckets full of water and sponges. Please no water balloons. We do not want to litter the park with broken balloons. If you bring balloons, you will be asked to put them back in your vehicle.

22 – Brunch, Garden Walk, and Antique Shopping – Safeway West at 8:30 a.m.

Start the morning with brunch at the Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage, followed a tour of the gardens and the antique shop and candy shops in Nanton!

Brunch starts at 10am so suggest meeting at Safeway West at 8:30am for car pooling. Meet at the far SE corner of the parking lot. Wearing LSSC shirts and standing outside your vehicle will help members find you.

Click going if you are coming and comment if you can carpool.

Brunch Costs $18.

Never done it before!? It's easy! Just show up by yourself or with a friend, and be ready to have fun! We'll teach you everything right from the basics for an hour before the floor opens up for social dancing. Best of all, it's only $5 / $3 for students!

This is a reoccurring event every Monday with no minimum required attendance from LSSC. Swing Bridge Dance Community hosts the event independent of LSSC.

11 – Applefest – GALT Gardens at 11:00 a.m.

The Lethbridge Sustainable Living Association are proud to be hosting Applefest! 2018 in downtown Lethbridge. 

Meet-up location will be in front of the SAAG at 11 a.m. and we will enter the park and AppleFest from there. If you can't make it at 11 and you want to come later, just post a comment on this Facebook event page.

Join other members for tactical fun: PaintBall!

We need to book well in advance to reserve our spot, so RSVP before Aug. 10 and we will try to get us a play time on the 19th.

19 – Volunteer: Lethbridge Family Services Picnic – Lethbridge Sports Park at 11:00 a.m.

This is a call-out for LSSC members to volunteer their time at a picnic hosted by Lethbridge Family Services. This picnic will be for immigrant families new to the Lethbridge area.

On Sunday, August 19th, Lethbridge Family Services will be hosting The Community Connections Volunteer Picnic. It will be held at the Rotary Picnic Shelter located at the Lethbridge Sports Park (28th Street and 30th Ave. North) from 11am-3pm.

For attendees, there will be food & beverages offered, a variety of games & activities for children, music and cultural dances, and general socialization.

*** WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP ***
Lethbridge Family Services is in need of volunteers to help out with children's games and activities (including a soccer game, field hockey, backyard games, parachute, face painting, etc.)

PLEASE NOTE: This event is hosted by Lethbridge Family Services, not by Lethbridge Sports & Social Club.

21 – Budweiser Bash - Whoop-Up Days – Exhibition Park at 7:00 p.m.

Lets Whoop it Up and enjoy some great music.
Whoop Up Days Budweiser Bash Party!
Special Concert in Pioneer Park featuring "The Sheepdogs" @8:30PM and Joey Landreth @ 7:00 PM
Advance tickets are $35 includes gate admission and entry into Budweiser Bash Concert. $45 at the gate.

23 – Taber CornFest - Taber at 6:00 p.m.

Every year in August on the last full weekend before the long weekend, the Taber and District Chamber of Commerce hosts the largest free family festival in Western Canada. It celebrates with a parade, live music, entertainment, rides, chili cookoff, show and shine, skateboard corn-test, huge fireworks, and much more! Come for the corn and stay for the fun! You can find us in Confederation Park at 50 ave/50 street.

We will meet at the Casino parking lot and coordinate carpools from there. We will depart from the Casino at 6.00 PM. If you're late, sorry. We hope to meet you for the next time.

31 – Rib Fest - GALT Gardens at 6:00 p.m.

I've been waiting all year for this one. Ribfest is back! If you love ribs, pulled pork, smoked chicken then you have to come to this event!

Meet-up location will be in front of the SAAG at 6 p.m. and we will enter the park and Ribfest from there. If you can't make it at 6 and you want to come later, just post a comment on this event page.
